go back

In February Willo and I spent a week of "working vacation" on Orcas Island.

Chairs on the ferry. Willo took almost this exact shot of me, and it was so cool I had to try it. Hers came out better... We scared this heron (by accident) and as it flew past I took this shot. The bird was almost directly in line with the sun, so the water is blown out to white and the edges of its wings are backlit. This tulip presented itself on our dinner table. No choice but to shoot it - extra grainy due to the high ISO. HDR image of a field near our cabin I met this guy out for his morning walk. He added a little seasoning to the road. Full-tilt HDR process for this one HDR with a more restrained hand HDR image of a very rusty ferry in the morning OK, it's one of those cheesy long exposures of a waterfall...but it's my first time. I think I'm allowed a little cheese in the name of experimentation... Different waterfall, similar cheese
